Aug 28, 2017 My iMac is too heavy to lug to my neighborhood Apple Store. Perhaps someone can tell me how to fix this. Any folder, photo, document I place on my desktop can't be moved around. Instead when I try to move it, it bounces back into place. I can guide into the trash if I click and drag it, but otherwise, all icons bounce back into place. Oct 03, 2014 What I am trying to do is move an open app from one desktop to the other. I tried different thing none work. Clicking the app on the taskbar switch you the original desktop the app was open on. Click and drag to the task bar hoping that the multi desktop is going to pop so one can drop the app in there does not work either. Thanks for the reply. Microsoft calls the feature Virtual Desktop by opening the Task View with the button located on the Taskbar (or using the Windows + Tab keyboard shortcut). The feature allows users to create different “virtual desktops” to run different sets of applications on separate desktops to keep things organized and not too clutter.

How to move apps between virtual desktops on Windows 10
To move an app to a new desktop, do the following:

Alternatively, inside Task View, you can simply click and drag the app to another desktop, or to the New desktop button, which will automatically create a new desktop for the app.
I'm not able to drag application windows from one desktop to the next by just moving it to the edge of the screen.
You should be able to do that. Drag the window until your cursor reaches the edge of the screen, hold for about a second, then the window should move into the adjacent Desktop.
